Where's the Bourbon Buried? A Southern Wedding In Clifton, VA

I am not a wedding photographer. Weddings scare the heck out of me. And my casual style typically doesn’t mesh with this formal occasion.

However, recently I had the honor of photographing a super chill wedding in Clifton - a small town in Northern Virginia with one main road, a handful of well-patronized local businesses, and a ton of heart.

It was a beautiful ceremony and a ridiculously fun reception.

The bride and groom upheld a wonderful southern tradition of burying a bottle of bourbon, then digging it up to share with guests.

Despite the 90 degree weather and 100% humidity, all 200 attendees had a blast start to finish.

Here’s a handful of the 800+ photos from the day.

Special shout out to friend and fellow photographer JBH photography for partnering with me.

Congrats AJ and Katie. I wish you all the best.
