The girl who kept me sane during the World Series.

I am a baseball fan. I love the Nationals. And I tend to get just a bit uptight watching high pressure games. Tht being said, October was crazy. Glorious, but crazy.

One thing that kept me calm watching my son’s games when he played in high school was taking pictures. It was how I learned photography. Hours and hours on the field testing settings, playing with light, catching (and missing) the action, figuring out focus, and forgetting about the game by being totally immersed in the movement and the players. I loved it.

For big games on TV I tend to edit photoshoots to stay calm(er). And for the 7th games of the World Series it was going through the photos of this beautiful young lady/family. This was fitting as these two are also huge baseball/National’s fans. Mom’s brother was on my son’s high school team. And while I sat on my couch editing, they were at the National’s watch party at the stadium in the rain cheering on the team.

Shots were taken in Manassas. It is gorgeous in the fall. I love the how the cloudy light created both softness and contrast. Of course it didn’t hurt that my subjects are both gorgeous.

Enjoy.

Oh, and Go Nats!
