There are few things more powerful to me than realizing how big the world is, and how small I am. Just had a wonderful weekend with friends (who I consider family) at a lake house in Lake Anna in Virginia. In between swimming and boating and drinking and laughing there were quiet times of sunrises and stars.

The stars shots amaze me. Just because nature is beautiful and big and vast. I do believe that is the Milky Way in there. And I love that it was visible without photo layers (which, btw, I have no idea how to do).

I did a lot of long exposure, low-key settings for the sunrise shots to create darkness and the glassy effect of the still water.
